What are Town Hall 8.5 and 9.5?

Town Hall 8.5 is a official Town Hall 9 village without Town Hall 9 defensive buildings and traps. Once you are Town Hall 9, don’t buy new Archer Tower, Air Defense,  Tesla and Wizard Tower. You can upgrade all your TH8 defensive buildings, troops, Army Camps, Spell Factory, Clan Castle, Laboratory, Archer Queen and Walls to their maxed level at Town Hall 9.

If a rushed Town Hall 9 has 2 maxed X-Bows, it can outrank almost maxed Town Hall 8. Especially at TH10, no matter how the rest of your village is, with maxed Inferno Towers, you can easily win the battle with TH9 players. These two defensive buildings have the highest scores at match making.

What is the benefit of being a Town Hall 8.5 or 9.5?

By being a Town Hall 8.5, your score at match making of Clan War is the same as when you were at Town Hall 8 because your defensive buildings number doesn’t change. Your Clan War now is be the same as when you were at TH 8 but you can attack TH8 villages easily with TH9 troops while the top players of the enemy Clan’s TH9 players have to attack you. You will save a lot of stars for your Clan. So Rushed Town Hall is not always bad, right?

Imagine, If your Clan has 10 TH 8.5 villages in Clan War, you can win the war every time lol.

This method has been confirmed by thousands players and I strongly agree with them. It works fine with other lower Town Hall such as TH 7 or TH 6 but they aren’t mentioned too much because it doesn’t take a long time to be a maxed Town Hall 7.

In short, the only benefit of being a TH 8.5 is for Clan War. If your Clan is doing War all the time, You can earn a lot of Clan War Bonus to upgrade new TH9 buildings and troops. When there is nothing left to upgrade, you can build and upgrade new defensive buildings and other new traps now.

Some players say building new Air Defense and traps doesn’t affect the score of your Town Hall 8.5 village in Clan War. I haven’t tested it yet but it is worth a try!
